Douglas B Sims, PhD

Douglas Sims is the Managing Partner of Sims & Associates. Dr. Sims started in the environmental consulting field in 1991 while working on his undergraduate education at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. His experience ranges from small to complex projects spanning multiple years and states that require coordination with multiple agencies. Dr. Sims has experience with EIA/EIS, NEPA, ARPA, NHPA, Section 106, contaminated sediments, and surface water hydrology across the United States including Alaska and Hawaii. He has worked at the private, state and federal levels to ensure his clients projects precede without delay.

Dr. Sims has published many articles in national and international peer reviewed journals on contamination from historic mine sites in the desert southwest. He attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas where he earned degrees in Anthropology with an emphasis in archaeology; Water Resources Management with an emphasis in contaminated soils relating to historic mine sites. Dr. Sims attended graduate school at Kingston University-London where he studied environmental science and earned his PhD. He also attended University of Bradford where he studied geoarchaeology.
